Lots of travel and Emerson turned three months old!

Just a short post to acknowledge Emerson's third "Monthday," which happened right before we left San Fran for Monterey. I love taking these pictures every month and probably like the outtakes as much as the posed ones...

I think Emerson's telling me that she's had enough in these next three shots...

I'm tolerating you, Mom.

But you are testing my patience...

All right, I'm just going to pretend you and your giant camera aren't there.

Here are those outtakes that I love. A certain someone gets to feeling left out and finds his way into the frame, as if I never take pictures of him. Haha. Emerson clearly loves it, though.

My sweet babies.

Happy 3rd Monthday, little E.

Northern California Getaway, Part II: We left our hearts in San Francisco!

I've been to San Francisco several times, but this time around the weather was something that I truly appreciated. We fled the stifling Dallas heat and found ourselves in sweaters and jeans all week long. We opted to stay in a hotel down near the wharf because of Matt's early morning swim, but the location turned out to be a real godsend as we experienced our first vacation with two little kiddos in tow. The proximity to restaurants, parks and tourist traps allowed us to walk out the door and entertain ourselves for a little while and then walk a few short blocks back to the room when the kids started to fade.

The sea lions...gone! Apparently June is the middle of breeding season.

There were a few sea lions hanging around.

This little guy was pretty friendly.

Ford wasn't too upset about it, though.

The Buena Vista

He may look like a rascal, but our waitress said he was her favorite.

But we didn't sequester ourselves in the touristy wharf area.  We got out and about in the city, using as many forms as public transportation as we could fit into our schedule.

We had a picnic at Crissy Field Beach, which was beautiful.

Gorgeous sand and views.
Ford kicked off his shoes immediately...

And went a little craaaaazy!

Emerson was a bit more relaxed.

But everyone had a good time.

The Bondurants heart you, San Fran! See you next time.
